SEFIC (Spoken English for Industry and Commerce) Egzaminy SEFIC są egzaminami sprawdzającymi umiejętność
sprawnego komunikowania się w różnych sytuacjach biznesowych (prezentowanie
wybranego zagadnienia, prowadzenie dyskusji, negocjacje), z którymi
spotykamy się w życiu zawodowym. SEFIC - Skills Skills marks should be entered at the end of the examination.
Based on the performance in all sections, the Examiner's mark (maximum
10) will be awarded for 5 skills. Vocabulary range Comprehension Fluency and the 2 facilitating skills: Grammar Pronunciation
LEVEL 3 Section A (5 minutes) is an introductory general conversation, focusing on work-related topics. Section B (5 minutes) is a comprehension exercise based on a short passage of business-related information. The candidate is asked to study this briefly and then answer questions. The purpose of this section is to introduce the business scenario and test comprehension of key vocabulary. Section C (10 minutes) is a listening comprehension. The candidate listens to a taped dialogue (which follows on from the business scenario established in Section B) and takes notes. After hearing the tape once the candidate is asked to relate the main points of the dialogue and to suggest remedies or predict outcomes for the situation outlined in the dialogue. Section D (10 minutes) is a reading comprehension exercise.
The candidate studies a business letter or report (which further develops
the business scenario established in sections B and C). The candidate
briefly relays the contents and explains certain expressions selected
by the Examiner. Section E (5 minutes) is a role-play emanating from the preceding sections. The role is outlined on a cue card and requires the candidate to participate in the discussion and negotiation of a familiar business problem. LEVEL 4 Section A (5 minutes) is an introductory general conversation encompassing a variety of businessrelated topics (including one of current interest). Section B (15 minutes - of which the discussion is a minimum of 5 minutes) is a business presentation on the candidate's prepared topic. At the start of this section the candidate provides the Examiner with a written synopsis (about 200 words). The Examiner asks follow-up questions leading into the discussion phase where the candidate is expected to respond fully to a wide range of questions, providing examples and clarification as appropriate. Section C (10 minutes) is a listening comprehension.
The candidate listens to a taped dialogue (played once), takes notes
and then relays the main points of the dialogue to the Examiner. Afterwards
the candidate is required to discuss and suggest a solution to the
(problematic) situation Section D (SEFIC 10 minutes) is a reading comprehension. Candidates are asked to study a written passage accompanied by some visual information (eg a report with a graph or chart). Questions are posed by the Examiner to assess the candidate's comprehension and powers of deduction. The topic area covered is different from Section C.
